Prolapsed rear from last egg layed
by: Linda

This is an emergency situation, and I suggest you run not walk to your car and the nearest Avian Vet in your driving area.

This prolapse will not get better as the bird has ruptured herself. This will need to be surgically put back in place by a licensed and trained Avian Vet.

What is happening now will get worse, and she is open to all kinds of life-threatening infections while this is ruptured.

Please get her to an Avian Vet as soon as you can because the short or long-term prognosis is not very good. She DOES NOT NEED TO LAY ANYMORE EGGS AS MORE EGGS MAY CAUSE IT TO RUPTURE AGAIN AFTER THE VET FIXES IT. Talk to them about this problem, and don't delay getting her medical help.
