Your bird is very sick with an upper respiratory infection and will not get well until he's been examined, diagnosed and treated by an Avian Vet.

There is a link on this site for help in finding an Avian Vet ( Find an Avian Vet ), and you must be willing to drive to the nearest vet as your bird will die from this infection if not treated properly. What comes next is bird going off feed and following that is death in a short time. Please do not ask a pet store for help because they will move you in the wrong direction because they are not Avian Vets and are not legally able to give you any advice other than to take your bird to the nearest Avian Vet. We, here, are bound by the same laws, and over the counter drugs are very dangerous for your bird, so we cannot offer you any help with that.

I hope everything works out for your bird, and for future reference, when buying a bird, one has to know where the nearest bird vet is located and take bird in during the first few days or week bird is in your home. To buy a bird without having a bird vet is like having children without doctors within driving distance. It is against the law and inhumane treatment of either one.

Use the link at the bottom of this page on the left for help in finding an Avian Vet and get your bird in for diagnosis and treatment quickly as you and, most importantly, your bird are running out of time.

Linda
