Quaker Parrot Poops Alot

Titus

Titus

Hi, I have recently become the proud owner of a Quaker parrot. He is for the most part very good and Quiet believe it or not. I just have one question and I don't even know if there is a way to do this. While I have him out and he is sitting on my shoulder or I am just petting him, he poops so much. Even a short stay out ( 5-10 minutes) can produce about 8-12 poops. First of all is that a lot? And secondly is there a way to lessen this while I have him out?

I have 2 quakers that spend time with me. I usually wait to feed them after I put them back in the cage. I have had 2 poop free days on my shoulder this week. If Titus starts to back up and scrunch down, this means its potty time. Hold him over a paper or his cage. I have done this consistently, and mine are semi-potty trained. Quakers are very smart and will catch on to anything that is reinforced enough. Good luck.
