Yur bird perhaps has an irritation like an itch or pain and is trying t get at the irritation to stp it

I would suggest an avian vet visit to check what may be wrong

They can see why the bird is itching (there are quite a few possibilities)

Why is there pain and prescribe any pain relief

Check for any internal tumours or external swellings

You need to d this ASAP as your bird is obviously in discomfort and could cause serious damage to the wing in its attempts to relieve the problem.

We cannot diagnose over the internet as there are too many possibilities without an in person examination and tests.

Let us know how the bird gets on at the vet.

Hi there,
Your Quaker parrot must be very uncomfortable for him to be fighting with his wings; maybe he has an itch. Did you look under his wings to see if he's bruised them? Maybe they were bruised and they're now healing on their own; due to that it could be itching and he is trying to scratch the place. To you, it may seem as though he's fighting with his wings. Examine him properly and if you don't see anything like bruises, take him to an Avian vet for a check up. It's better to be safe than sorry. Take care and God bless you both.

Parrot "fighting" wings

It is difficult to say. You need to take the bird to an avian vet for an exam to find out. It could be it has an infection and it is trying to get to what is hurting inside.

Please use this Find an Avian Vet link to find an avian vet for your bird so it can be examined to determine what is wrong and what the potential treatment might be.
