quaker sitting on bottom of cage?normal for pregnancy?

i have 2 quaker parrots..thought they were both male..i believe one is female and she is pregnant..she perches with the male at night but sits on the bottom of the cage alot..i will get nesting stuff today for bottom of cage,..is this normal? i am worried

I agree with Tracie. if your parrot is perched at the bottom of her cage, chances are she is sick. Please see avian vet ASAP.You could never be too careful.

Birds do not get pregnant like mammals. They produce an egg which takes about 25 hours. The egg is laid and she is no longer "pregnant."

If your bird is sitting on the bottom of the cage, you need to take the bird to an avian vet ASAP.
