Quaker with short nails and bent toe

Quaker parrot with deformed toe

Quaker parrot with deformed toe

Hi, My boyfriend recently bought me a Quaker from a pet store. the bird is approx 8 months old. He has very short toenails on all of his toes. Some toes have no nail at all. I thought this was abnormal but my boyfriend said the guy at the pet store said that it's because he is young.

I have never seen this is any of my birds before, so I don't think that it is normal. Also, on his right foot, one of his back toes is bent forward and looks sort of deformed. Is this cause for alarm?

Thanks,
Erica

Your bird has some deformities, it is not because it is young. Please Find an Avian Vet to examine your bird to make sure it does not have any other health issues, since it appears that it came from a breeder that does not have good breeding practices.
