Re parrot beak
by: Linda

This may be part of growing, but if you see any red or inflamed parts of this area, then this is not good.

If your baby has not been examined by an Avian Vet, you would be wise to go ahead and take him to have this checked out as well as being checked for any infections. Bacterial infections are common with baby parrots, so let the Avian Vet weigh him, check him for infections and take a look at his beak. The baby parrots have no immune systems to speak of at this young age, so it would be better to be safe than sorry. Infections and/or parasites take them down quickly, so go ahead and get him in soon as you can.

Let us know about what the avian vet says about his beak because your information can help someone else with a similar problem. We appreciate your letter very much,
