red ceer

my female parakeet has a redish ceer but she lives with a male parakeet i was wondering what it she ill or pregnet or something elsa .

i went to a vet and they said that my bird is just maturing. thanks for the help

This is not a normal color for a cere. Birds do not get pregnant, but she may be ready to lay eggs, although this color of cere is not likely to be related. I recommend that you have your bird looked at by an avian veterinarian.

Young baby female Budgies have a blue cere that turns light tan to brown as they mature. Red means something is wrong, and only an Avian Vet can diagnose and treat birds, so find one and get your birds in there quickly. I'm saying take both birds in for exam because infections both viral and bacterial are highly contageous and any birds living in close contact with a sick one will also be sick.
