Red Palm Oil

Greetings,

I am proudly owned by a Timneh Grey & I was wondering your thoughts on adding all natural Red Palm Oil to his diet. He was just at the vet last week & his blood work all came back normal. And everything I read says to never give your bird vitamin supplements unless otherwise directed by your avian vet. He's eats a very varied & health diet & like I stated earlier his blood work came back with in the normal ranges. I just want to do what's best for him.

Lylene, Tracie carries the cold pressed organic red palm oil, Sunshine Factor here, and I recommend you ONLY buy organic because anything coming out of a regular grocery store is probably partially hydrogenated making it poison for people and birds.

Take a look at what Tracie has and see if it is the same as what you are looking at. You need to ask Avian Vet about how much to give your particular bird per day and do not overdo it as this will cause an imbalance.

Your bird also needs to be eating organic pellets, and Tracie carries several kinds of those here as well. All seed diets with or without oils, veggies, fruit is a very poor diet and will cause major problems in the future.Tracie also carries Harrison's Bird Bread mix which is great and calls for oil (organic red palm oil), two eggs and water. It is great for birds, and will help in changing over to the pellets.
