Bird regurgitating
by: The Avian Vet

This could be normal behavior or an illness. You should have her examined by an avian veterinarian ASAP.

Your bird needs to be seen by an Avian Vet in your area as this is NOT normal. Sometimes birds regurgitate when they are showing affection for a person or a toy, but they NEVER throw up a lot of real food, and they do not re-eat it. Mothers feeding babies will feed their babies partially digested food from their crops and this is called crop milk, so there should NEVER be whole food thrown up as this means illness or poor diet.

So, you need to take bird to Avian (Bird) vet as quickly as you can as there may be problems with infection or diet. Parrots should be eating organic, high quality pellets and very little fruit and veggies. They should NOT eat ANY people food or table scraps as these are full of fat, salt and sugar. Salt and sugar are toxic to birds and kill quickly. Fat takes longer to kill and does a good job of it anyway.

Tracie carries organic pellets, like Harrison's, and has several kinds, so you need to get your bird onto a healthful diet. Right now you need to see an Avian vet and have tests done to see if bird is sick. Tell vet everything bird eats as most of the time digestive upsets are caused by improper feeding.
