Why is my bird pulling at his belly? He is not pulling out any feathers and he almost acts like he's self gratifing himself? Is this alright behavior? It use to be he only did it once in awhile last couple of days it seems to be all the time.Thank you for your help.

Bird picking belly

Your bird could possibly be molting and may be preening his belly feathers. If you notice his feathers looking chewed, then you need to take him for a vet check.

Also, do not give him attention, like running to see what he is doing, or he may develop a habit of doing this just to get your attention. Try to watch him without his knowing you are watching. Give attention only when he is doing what you want him to be doing.
