Rio-My Pineapple Green Cheek Conure

This is Rio, my pineapple green cheek conure. I have always been a bird person but haven't had one in a very long time. He was kind of an impulse buy. There was a guy selling birds on a corner from the back of a trailer in my town. Normally I would NEVER buy an animal from such circumstances, but when I stopped, I realized that I knew the seller and am friends with the breeder. I never even knew my friend raised birds. After finding this out, I was very comfortable getting a bird from him.

I chose Rio for his bright colors and the fact that he had been hand raised. I got him when he was 3 months old, he is now six months and attempting to talk. Yesterday he said "Hello Baby" twice. He is such a little clown. He can be kinda loud but not too bad. He is becoming more vocal and making a wider range of sounds now. He loves everybody and will go to anyone although he prefers my company. He is such a delight and has given me hours of entertainment.

I take him into the shower with me everyday and he patiently waits til I'm finished for his turn under the water. He can get a little nippy but when I tell him "No Bite" he usually stops. He LOVES being on my laptop and is a FaceBook fan as you can tell by the picture. For such a small bird, he has a tremendous personality!
