Burning sage in room with bird
by: The Avian Vet

I don?t think that it does, however, the smoke itself can be damaging to the respiratory system and I don?t think that you should burn it in the same room.

Sage burning
by: Linda

It will kill your birds to do this. Even scented candles cannot be burned with birds in the home. Nor can room deoderizers be used. No perfume of any kind can be used because anything with fumes will kill your bird. Wood burning stoves and fireplaces are also toxic for parrots. A pellet stove might work since there is a 100% burn there. Wood fires have a lot of waste and lots of fumes going into the air, so are very deadly for birds.

Thanks for writing,
Linda

The smoke from the burning will have an affect on your bird. It is not safe. If you have to do this in your room you need to make sure you can place your birds at the other end of the house, i a room with a shut door for the day. And the place you do the sage stick burning you have h=to have well ventilated for the day.
