scarlet macaw puking

My scarlet macaw is eating very little and is puking. Can anyone tell me why and what I should do? I feed it seeds, fruits, fresh water. She also likes cooked corn and cooked rice.

You need to get your bird to an avian vet ASAP. PLease make sure the vet you choose has experience with birds.

Your bird is very, very sick with what it's impossible to tell over the internet. No one is going to be able to answer that question over the internet. You have to find an Avian Vet ONLY and take your bird there immediately or you will lose your bird. This could be a very bad viral infection which would cause bird to throw up all the food they are trying to eat. It will NOT get better, so unless you want to watch your bird die a slow and agonizingly painful death, please take her to an Avian Vet immediately to be examined, diagnosed and treated. Find an Avian Vet

Once she is well, the diet you have your bird on is pitiful, and this can be part of the problem. Your bird needs to be eating 80-85% of her diet in organic pellets like Harrison's found here. Harrisons is 100% nutrition and you will need no vitamin/mineral supplements and only 10-15% in fruit and/or veggies which means smaller amounts fed a few times a week.

Right now is not the time to change to a new diet because your bird is sick and will have to be well before any changes in diet can be done. All seed diets with or without fruit, veggies and the rice stuff you mentioned are slow starvation diets and no parrot does well on them for long. Birds' immune system becomes weak from lack of proper nutrition, and the result is what you are seeing now--a very sick bird.

Let us know what Avian Vet has to say, and we can talk more about how to go about changing from seeds to organic pellets. Right now, stop with the rice and soak some seeds in a bit of water and see if she can keep them down. Make plans to get her to Avian Vet right away because she will not last long in her present condition.Understand that she is in much pain and it is the most important thing in your world right now to get her to an Avian Vet.
