Scratched toe

My bird was hanging out with the family on the back porch and scratched the bottom of one of her toes. It's not a deep scratch, more like a skin abrasion where a layer of skin was taken off. She is missing her longest toe nail, not sure why because she came to us like that, so it's just skin on that toe. She did bleed a bit but it has stopped. However it feels warm and she keeps pulling it up and favoring that leg, but she does use it to still get around without any complaint. Maybe it's a lil soar and she really like the attention she is getting or could it be more?? Ideas or suggestions.

Bird with hurt toe

If it doesn't appear that the wound is healing, you need to take the bird to an avian vet ASAP. An infection is easy to treat in the early stages.

You can use this Find an Avian Vet link to find an avian vet for your bird so it can be examined and treated.
