Senegal losing feathers on back and chest. and other questions

I think my Senegal, Horus, is molting. He has lost most of the green feathers on his chest and back. His wings, head and tail are still full feathered. Is this molting?

Ive only had him for 7 months and all my other birds were parakeets, so i am unfamiliar with molting. I know this is breeding season for African parrots and he is acting more lovey dovey lately. Also how can I tel what sex he is? I think he is a she but I am unsure. Is there a way to tell from markings or color?

also, how can I tell his age? His eyes are a light gold with black center if that helps. Thanks for any info!

Jenn

First let me say that your bird sounds like he is beautiful!
It is possible that he could be molting now as these are sure signs of doing so.
Be sure to monitor his behavior to make sure it is not a sign of stress.
The best way to tell the sex of your bird is to have DNA testing done at the vet.
