Severe Macaw not playing

I need some guidance. I have purchase a Severe Macaw last November. He is very quiet. He does not make any noice but one a day he yells for a split second.

He does not seem interested in toys. We have put him in a playstation where there is stairs. He does not seem interested in the stairs. We have place toys in the playstation and he doesn't seem interested.

I believe he is happy bec I see him eat and drink and occassionaly stand on one foot. I was told this is a clear way of knowing your bird is happy.

My question is how can I make him happier? Is there a particular type of toy? Do I need to give him more walking area? Does he need or want a bath? What can I do to make him a very happy bird?

Your bird sounds sick, and I strongly suggest you take him to an Avian Vet in your driving as soon as you can get an appointment. ALL NEW BIRDS NEED TO BE TAKEN TO AN AVIAN VET FOR A CHECKUP SHORTLY AFTER THEY ARE BROUGHT HOME. The reason for this is that their immune systems are down because of moving into strange surroundings and all the stress that brings.

Please do not take this lightly as your bird needs to be seen by an Avian Vet so they can diagnose and treat any infections. Infections DO NOT GO AWAY, AND THEY BECOME MUCH, MUCH WORSE ENDING IN DEATH, so do not delay taking him to an Avian Vet. Do not take him to a regular dog and cat vet as they are not licensed to treat birds and don't know how to properly diagnose infections and treat with medicines.

Birds should all play and make noise, and if your bird is as lethargic and quiet as you describe, you must take him to the Avian vet immediately or risk losing him.
