No.

Hand feeding your bird food helps provide a sense of trust and helps to form a bond btwn you and your bird.

Your bird needs that personal interaction with you. My bird is a year old, and is hand fed each day. I share everything with her that is safe for her that I am eating at the time.

She sits on the back of a chair at the table... and I share with her. This is her favorite thing to do. Especially since birds are what we call social eaters. In the wild they eat as a flock. As you are now apart of your bird's "flock" it will be happier eating with you, and being hand fed. Your bird craves your attention, and hand feeding your bird is just another form of that!

Keep hand feeding your bird. This will also prevent the bird from being nippy or bitting you in the future... why? because it trusts and is bonded to you!
