This growth could be a fungal infection or possible a cancer. The most common cause is chronic infection from Aspergillus fungi. However any chronic infection can cause similar symptoms. You need to find an avian veterinarian immediately to have this diagnosed and treated.

Sick Budgie-help needed

You are not going to find anyone anywhere on the internet who can help you with what is wrong here. Only an Avian Vet can diagnose and treat parrots and other birds, so you will need to find one in your driving area and take bird in immediately if not sooner.

Do not try any over the counter meds, especially any found in pet stores and do not ask any pet store personnel to help you either. They are NOT Avian Vets or they would not be working in a pet store.

Find a reputable breeder in your area or a friend, with birds, to give you a recommendation on an avian vet because they are not all reputable, and you must be careful to make sure the one your bird sees is trustworthy and trained enough to know how to diagnose and treat birds.

Thanks for writing and please do not delay taking your bird to the doctor as you've already waited too long.
