Sick parakeet?

by Adrian
(Hollis, NY)

My parakeet is laying down and he is not dead. He is about 4 months old. He is blinking and trying his best to get up but I don't know what to do.Earlier in the day, I saw him fine and healthy. After about two hours, I saw him trying to get up from laying on his side. What do I do?

Parakeet laying on floor of cage
by: Tracie

You need to Find an Avian Vet right away for your bird, it is the only way for your bird to have a chance to live.

If the bird dies, please take the bird for a necropsy to determine the cause of death. If the bird has a disease, you will want to notify the person you purchased the bird from. If the bird died from something toxic, you will want to remove the item so the next bird doesn't also die.
