Sick Scarlet Macaw

We have a 9 year old, male Scarlet Macaw. 3 weeks ago began making slight whistling noise from his nose holes; tonight began vomiting, shaking, labored breathing. We have NO avian vet in our immediate area. What can you suggest? Please, and thank you!

Thankfully, Roscoe P. Coltrain has shown much improvement, and now seems to be behaving more normally! We spoke with an Avian Vet nearly 3 hours South of us, and if need be will travel
down to have her see Roscoe on Wednesday! Meantime,
we're scrubbing his perches and cage to hopefully eliminate any bacteria or contamination of whatever kind seemed to be grabbing hold of him!

Sometimes Dr B doesn't answer questions for over a week, and your bird would likely be dead by then. You must Find an Avian Vet to drive your bird to.

You can call your breeder and ask what vet they use, you might be surprised to find a vet is closer than you think.
