Siezure ?

We have a mitrid consure about 10 years old. My daughter ran into us this morning thinking she was dead as she was at the bottom of her cage not moving. We think she fell off her perch and was on the ground but by the time I got in the room about 30 seconds later she was moving around on the bottom of her cage but not acting normal as she rarely goes down there.

She was out of water come to find out and did drink after her bottle was refilled, but is not wanting to eat apples, her favorite treat. She is acting quite disoriented and quiet and that is not normal for her either.. any ideas ?

Bird possible siezure
by: Tracie

You need to Find an Avian Vet to examine your bird in person. Dr B can not tell what may be wrong without an in person exam and blood tests.

Since you didn't see what caused your bird to be at the bottom of the cage, you don't know if the bird fell and maybe broke or fractured any of it's delicate hollow bones.

Your bird could be ill or have a disease too. There are numerous possibilities as to what could be wrong.
