smelly bird

Your bird is either dirty or it has a kidney problem which needs to be addressed. Birds usually have a fairly pleasant smell unless they or their cage is dirty. If your bird is clean, and his cage is clean, then he is sick and needs to be seen immediately by an Avian Vet in your driving area to have bloodwork done to see what kind of shape kidneys are in.

Birds also need to be eating healthy, high quality organic pellets and no people food or other junk. Here is a link about how to go about changing from seeds to pellets, and I recommend Harrisons as the best organic pellet available and affordable.

Let us know what the Avian Vet has to say and do not delay taking your bird in because this could be the smell of death from kidney failure, and your bird is in pain.
