Smelly Parrot

If the smell is foul, such as infection it is likely coming from an infection or sickness. However, if it a "musty smell" that is normal for amazons who do emit a scent which is somewhat of a musty smell when excited or agitated.

Your bird is not smelly because of what is on the outside, and is smelly because of what is going on inside him. He sounds like he is very sick with some kind of infection and will die without medical services provided by an Avian Vet ONLY in your area. Take him to only an avian vet because they are the only ones licensed and trained in the care and treatment of birds.

Stop putting sprays on him all together because the smell is coming from a bird who is rotting from the inside out, and all the sprays in the world will not make this parrot better until he is examined and diagnosed and treated by an avian vet.

Please use this Find an Avian Vet link to find an avian vet for your bird so it can be examined to determine what is wrong and what the potential treatment might be.
