sprained wing?

by Sarka
(Chicago,IL)

Hi, I have a new cockatiel baby about 4months old, he seems to fall of perches here and there.. he had a vet appointment yesterday he seemed fine.. today I gave him shower but he fell of again and now he seems to hold his wing more foreward and keeps cleaning it all the time.. how do i know its really sprained?

when should I take him in, does sprained or broken wing heal on its own? he is so young, I don't want to lose him as I lost a parakeet due to broken foot before.. can you please answer my questions? thank you ,
SARKA

Bird with injured wing and falling
by: Tracie

You should Find an Avian Vet to examine your bird right away. First, it is not normal for a bird to be falling, and second it does sound like your bird is injured and probably in pain.
