Spreading wings and making hissing sounds.

I have a peach faced love bird that is 13 years old. She has never bitten me and comes out daily. She is gentle but every now and then she throws up and when we touch her especially stroking her back she spreads her wing and starts to make hissing sounds. Why does she do this and is this a show of affection?

my CAG does same thing

from time to time my dear female CAG does the same thing . When I asked my vet about it he laughed at me kindly and said she is feeding you. To my astonishment once learning this I found it was right she whould coo when I petted her beak and then begin to regeritate a small bit of food as if trying to feed me like one of her babies. She seldom does it anymore but then again she has taken to loving her neck massaged more then her beak now too :)
As to the wings down and hissing I do not have a clue but I am sure someone does :)
