squawking all the time

my green cheek bird will squawk all day long how can i get it calm down? it has lots of toys lots of food and is out of its cage all day and gets a lot of attention. will not play with its toys and likes to just sit and squawk. the only time it stops is when i am holding it. how can i get it to play with its toys and not want to be with me all day?
