Squeaking sound at night
by: Linda

Your bird is either sick or scared. Why do you come near him at night. Your bird needs to be sound asleep in a quiet room where he is not disturbed starting at around 8-9pm each night. You may also need to cover his cage with a light cover so he feels more secure. Leave him alone once he is covered and asleep because you are scaring him to death. Make sure the cover is lightweight and leaves a couple of inches at the bottom open for air circulation.

Once it gets dark, birds wish to be left alone so they can rest and sleep.

If you think your bird is sick, then he has to be taken to an Avian Vet to be examined. Only an Avian Vet can diagnose and treat birds as they are the only vets who know what they're doing with birds. Signs of illness are runny stool, tired all the time, puffed up, not eating or talking and playing as much as they should, obvious wounds or growths or irritations. Those are all signs your bird has to be diagnosed and treated by an Avian Vet. Birds do not get over their infections, and they get worse and worse until they finally die from lack of medical services. Having a bird means also having an Avian Vet for them when they need one.

Thanks for writing,
Linda
