Strange Cockatoo Behavior

Umbrella Cockatoo

My Umbrella Cockatoo Ducky has started trying to stuff seed under the feathers on his back and wings. What is he doing and why? He has no parasites and has recently been to a vet. Is there some meaning to this behavior? He also sleeps laying down but i think he may do this because he watches the dogs sleep this way and may think he is one of them. The seed thing has me really curious.

Normal to stuff

Hello, I have a Goffin. I will give him a snack or toy he will take it, play a bit, then start preening and stuff it in his wing feathers or put it on his back. When done preening he will then take it out, play with it and then at times put it back....He did this when visiting Wings Of the World, Bird store the other day too. I asked Joan the Parrot expert there (over 30 years exp)if this was normal. She laughed and said oh yes... it is one of Cockatoo's many funny traits. As for the other behavior. I can not answer.
