sun conure eye problems

by Paula
(Honolulu)

My sun conures white area around one of her eyes looks like it is seperating at the bottom. Looks like two white areas at the bottom of that eye. It is not red, it is not swollen but it is a little worse today than yesterday and yesterday is when I first noticed it. She doesn't seem to be bothered by it but I sure am. It is Christmas day so there is no vets available. I will probably have to go on Monday. If you know what is going on with her poor little eye than please let me know. asap
thank you
Paula

Sun conure eye problem
by: Paula

I took my sun conure to the vet today and he said her eye looked a little bruised and a little swollen. There has been no trauma no flying accidents. So we weren't sure how it got the bruise. Other than that she was perfectly healthy. Her eye wasn't bad at all but looked a litle tiny bit infected so he gave her some antibiotic drops and said she should be fine. He said it may have healed on it's own even but better safe than sorry. Thank God that is all it was!

Conure with eye problem

I am sorry this is just now being posted. All of us were off for the holiday. What did your avian vet say? Dr B would not have been able to help you, since he can't see your bird for an examination anyway.
