Do NOT add vitamins to bird food or water
by: The Avian Vet

First and foremost to keep your bird healthy and prevent egg binding, you must switch her to a pellet diet immediately. I recommend Harrison's, but Roudybush is good too.

Second, you need to take her to see an avian veterinarian immediately to be sure she is not egg bound already. Supplementing a seed diet is ineffective at providing complete and balanced nutrition. Do not add vitamins to the water as this will lead to bacterial infections and also is ineffective at proving proper nutrition. Powder vitamins are easily over- and under-dosed.
