Breeding Conures

The hen must be bred before laying the egg.

Please do not allow your birds to breed until you have some experience in taking care of baby birds. Call a good breeder in your area and ask if you can help them for a while.

If you don't know what you are doing, you could lose both your female laying the eggs and the babies due to complications.

You should be feeding your birds a good pellet diet, like Harrison's, for a while before allowing them to breed. Birds that eat Harrison's do not have problems with egg binding. If your hen gets egg bound, your bird may die.
