You need to take your bird to an avian vet. He could have an infection or something stuck in his nose hole. Have you changed perfume or hairspray lately? Do you have any air fresheners or scented candles in the house? All of those things are toxic to birds just like most household cleaners are too. Make sure you take the bird to a vet that specializes in caring for birds as a vet that treats dogs and cats will not have the experience or training to properly diagnose and care for your bird.

My bird was doing the same thing. He has allergies that I found out due to a new product I was using. Is there anything new or different in your surroundings?

There can be many reasons for this. One is bird's cage and environment is dusty, and they sneeze to help get solid matter out of their nose.

The other possibility is illness, and if you see any runny ooze coming from nose or eyes, then bird is sick. Birds have to be examined, diagnosed and treated by Avian Vets ONLY. Dog and cat vets are not licensed or trained in caring for birds and will not be able to tell you what is wrong. They will, however, send you home with a cornucopia of drugs most of which are not needed and will actually hurt your bird. So, take birds to an Avian Vet as they are licensed and trained and can usually find a cause for symptoms.

Thanks for writing,
Linda
