Sunshine Factor with vitamins
by: The Vet

Yes, that is fine, but I don?t recommend vitamins. You should be feeding pellets instead. If you are feeding pellets then do not give the vitamins. If you feed Harrison's High Potency, you do not need the vitamins or the Sunshine Factor.

Sunshine Factor and multi vitamins too?

Hello and thanks for writing.

If your bird is eating a good enough diet, they don't need any multivitamins at all. I'm talking about a high quality organic pelleted food like Harrisons. Tracie carries the Harrison's plus a few other organic ones out here. The Harrisons is 100% complete nutrition and they say NOT to give any additional vitamins and minerals.

We use the Sunshine Factor organic Red Palm Oil in our Harrisons' Birdy Bread Mix, and feed the Harrisons pellets to our Amazons. They are very healthy and have been eating the Harrisons for about 15 years now.

So, you can very easily OVERDO using vitamin and mineral supplements. It would be cheaper and better for your birds to change to the pellets as you'll see less vet bills and less money out on extras like vitamins and minerals which are NOT fully 100% usable by the birds anyway. Just like people, synthetic vitamins are not used by our bodies, so it's sometimes a waste of money to buy them.
