Switching bird cages between birds

I believed the cage we had for our 2 Green Cheeks was a bit too small so I bought them a larger cage. Is it ok for me to just wash out their old cage & put my Sun in there? My BF is worried about the possibility of the scent of the green cheeks being on the cage.
