Symmetrical Lumps on Top of Cockatiel's Wings Near Back

Hi. After I had given my Cockatiel, Kirby, a bath, I noticed spots on her wings. I moved the feathers out of the way and saw two spots on both wings in exactly the same places. They are near the neck of the bird where the wings start. They are raised, almost red. I do not know if these are normal on a cockatiel since they are symmetrical. I am worried. Please help!
(She is a white-faced Lutino.)

Lumps on Cockatiel wings

You are correct in that symmetry is an indication of normal.. However, raised and red may not be normal. It could have been related to the hot water in the shower, or it could be skin irritation. You need to have this examined by an avian veterinarian. Do not wait, go ASAP, because skin disease in birds is difficult to treat, and more difficult as it progresses. It may be nothing, but you need to know for sure.

I think you should make an appointment with an Avian Vet and take her into see them. I have never seen the kind of lumps you are describing. If she has not been to vet in a while, it would be good to take her in for an exam and to rule in or out some type of infection/parasite.

It is recommended that our birds go in for a yearly checkup to make sure they are in good condition with no infections lurking in their bodies or other problems. If it has been over a year since her last exam, it would be good to take her on in.

Vet will be able to tell you more about what the lumps are as from your description, I just can't think of anything.
