should i take my male macaw from his mate so that he is not so territorial and aggressive or can i teach him with her there

He won't let anyone near his mate can this be fixed should I seperated him and go back to basics What should we do he just won't let her a foot away can we fix this

Macaw agressive with mate

I am not sure you can "teach" your bird to not be territorial or aggressive with the other bird. Just like people, some birds can live together and some can not. But it is worth a shot. :-)

If one bird is overly aggressive and abusive to another bird, the only solution is to separate them. You can put the cages next to each other and let them out together when closely supervised.

Conures and macaws are sooo different, I don't know if the same procedure will work with your birds as did with my conures, but we have an article on our Parrot Training page about our getting another green cheeked conure and helping them get along and eventually live together. Read that and the other training articles and hopefully your birds will be able to live together sometime in the future. :-)
