This depends entirely on the bird. Your bird needs to be worked with several times a day for no more than 10-15 minuites at a time because after that, they lose interest. Also, if your bird has not been examined by an Avian Vet, then be sure to do that before any more training. A lot of new birds have infections from the stress of being moved and put with a lot of strange birds. Sick birds cannot learn and can actually die during any training because they are already weak.
Your bird has to trust you, and that takes a while because trust is earned not freely given. Once he trusts you the taming and training will go faster, so it may be slow at first.
