thinning feathers

May > August green cheeked conure

I am worried why my birds feathers are thinning on her shoulders and are grey not green as some other green cheek conures .. she seems healthy and happy

This could be a nutritional problem if your bird is not eating a healthy pellet diet like Harrison's or Roudybush. Your bird should be eating 80% pellets and only 20% seed and treats. ZuPreem and Lefeber are not healthy, they have sugar and other fillers that cause health and feather problems in birds.

My green cheeked conure looked like this when she was chewing her feathers. Please read our Feather Damaging Behavior article written by an avian vet, in case this is the issue.

You might need to Find an Avian Vet for your bird, to rule out disease.
