Timneh Grey - Standing crouched trying to look flat

by Dee E.

Hello, I've had my bird 22 years and I've never seen him do this: He's crouched on his perch with his wings out slightly, he looks like he is trying to be flat. I've seen him go to the top of his play area and "hide" under the cover recently, but we thought he was playing. Today he is doing the same thing in the middle of his cage. His droppings are normal, his diet is unchanged. I had an unusual amount of people over for a meeting last night and he was very chatty.
I am befuddled by the birds behavior.
Thank you

Hormonal African Grey

From all appearances, your bird is acting hormonal. Are you sure this is a male? If you bird is not being seen by an avian vet yearly, you should take your bird to see an avian vet. Dr B can not diagnose your bird over the Internet.
