Tire swing for my conure.

by Dean
(Riverside, Ca)

Hello, I would like to make a tire swing for my conure's play gym I built them. The thing is I don't know if it is okay for birds to be chewing or playing around tires. Does anyone know if that would be okay?

Rubber is not a good choice for a parrot toy in that if they eat it, it may cause an impaction as it is non-digestible.

I'd use something else for a swing like safe wood, and there is a list here of safe and toxic woods for you.
