Toilet roll tube sitting

when i put a toilet roll tube in with my african grey he knocks it to the bottom of the cage and sits on it like his trying to hatch it what does this mean?

It means he likes to sit on it. I recommend you NOT give him toilet paper rolls as these come from the toilet which is a very dirty place. All the bacteria on the roll could make him sick.

If you use paper towels, these rolls are cleaner and even larger, so he would have lots of room to sit on it and even walk back and forth.

Your bird is just playing, and all of them have different ways they like to play.
