Travel to vet

It's OK to use the bird cage you have to take your birds to the vet. I don't have a travel cage either but the cage in the house is too large to move and put in the car so I do have a smaller, medium sized cage that I use for transport. I wouldn't recommend putting your birds in a box for travel because it could be quite traumatizing to them. If you live in a cold climate, be sure to start your car and put the heat on before you put the bird in.

Also, be sure to cover the cage when you bring the bird outside and you can uncover the top of the cage in the car so the bird can see you. I usually put the cage in the front seat next to me and seatbelt it. I don't have a long drive to the vet so this works for me.
