Cocktoo chewing on mucus
by: The Avian Vet

Many cockatoos have this and similar abnormal behaviors. It may not be a medical problem, but it could be a crop infection, particularly when feeding ZuPreem which has lots of sugar and can cause yeast infections. I recommend that you take your bird in to an avian veterinarian for a check up.

Find an Avian Vet

I suggest your bird eat a high quality pellet diet like Harrison's or Roudybush pellets.

My U2 does the same thing, I also do bird boarding and U2's in boarding also do the same.
All are avian vet checked annually and healthy.

This doesn't sound normal. A bird doesn't have spit like we do.

I would get in touch with an avian vet asap.
