umbrella cockatoo tail wag and panting

Hi, I have an umbrella cockatoo she is about 1 and a half years old and just gorgeous. just wanted to find out what it means when she wags her tail? she seems very happy but not sure. also wanted to find out when i pick her up out of her cage in the mornings she has started to pant as soon as she sees me now what does that mean? thanks

Did you check the birds' underside to see if there was any dried poop attached to her? If there is none, it sounds like it's mating season. Females usually bow their heads, make a wheezing sound and move their tails up in the air to attract the males. As long as the bird is eating, drinking and behaving normally, you needn't worry, this behavior will pass.
