Usually sleepy baby cockatiel

by Barbara Baumgarten
(Rancho Cucamonga, Ca, USA)

My three week old baby cockatiel began sleeping all day today and yesterday. The baby tiel will even keep her eyes closed when she eats. There is very little movement, for the exception of shifting directions while sleeping. When I try to get her to wake up and walk around a little, she will lose her balance and fall over. She seems healthy other than all the sleeping. Is this normal? What should I be doing? Thank you very much.

Sometimes Dr B doesn't answer questions for a week or 2 or even 3 weeks. Your bird might be dead by then. Please Find an Avian Vet to examine your bird right away.
