Hahn's Macaw Parrot

Hahn's Macaw Parrot

Hi I was wondering if it's okay to keep my Hahn's macaw in the same room as our vent free gas fireplace? The installer said it would be fine after the initial burn-off which is 4-5 hours. We have a CO detector in the room and the digital read-out reads 0 ppm in the room but I would still like a second opinion. Thanks for your time.

Yes, your bird is safe. Keep monitoring the CO, for his safety as well as yours.

Hi, I am always sceptical when it comes to odors in my house. I have an african grey timneh and I bought one of those Rabbitair air purifiers. Whenever I get a little odor of anything I turn it on. I have a soapstone wood stove and I do not put my bird in the same room. Maybe I am too protective but I always worry. They are very sensitive to any odors. I thhink you should ask your avian vet. They would know best.
