Your parrot should be seen regularly by an avian vet. Sick or not. I'd suggest once a year for a wellness exam.

Reason: Parrots even tho they live with us, are still very much a wild animal. They retain so much of thier natural wild instincts.

In the wild, a sick bird is easy prey. Therefore a bird will never tell you when he is TRUELY sick, until he is moments from death, literally.

To ensure your bird's health, He should been seen once a year to prevent this kind of thing.

Find an avian vet, not a standard dog/cat vet. Your bird is considered an exotic animal, and requires a vet that specializes in birds. Only he will give you the proper information you need about your birds health without having to "GUESS".

Good luck, hope you're little one gets well.

I don't know how to cure sick birds, sorry. You have to know what is wrong in order to know what medication or treatment is necessary. Please Find an Avian Vet to examine your bird so you can get your bird well.
