weight maintenance for bird

I am the "new" owner of a Amazon Grey. She is 15 weeks old. I hand fed her once a day for two weeks while transitioning her to a non formula diet.
I give her a variety of fruits and vegetables and of course she has favorites but she hasn't gained any weight in a week. She is also fed seeds, nuts and pellets. She does not eat very many of the pellets.
How do I get her to eat more and what food should I focus on?
I would appreciate any assistance.

Weaning problems with bird
by: The Avian Vet

Your bird needs to eat 80% pellets, and 20% treats. Harrison's is the best pellet. She should not gain weight (as quickly) after she weans. Immediately at weaning they even loose a little weight. You need to take your bird in to see an avian veterinarian for a well-bird exam and Gram?s stain as soon as possible. For information on weaning, please see my To Wean or Not To Wean article. I think you will find it enlightening.

Getting bird to eat better
by: Tracie

Please read our Switching Birds to Pellets article even though you are already feeding pellets.

You need to treat the bird like a child. You control what they eat, and simply only feed what you want the bird to eat. Only feed the bird extra food in the evening, if it has not eaten it's pellets all day. Make sure only pellets are in the dish when you go to bed, so that when it wakes in the morning starving, it has to eat pellets.
