There is a little pink string like flap of skin right on the corner of my female parakeet's beak. What is it!!??

Hi, and thanks for writing! It is impossible to know excactly what you are talking about without seeing it in person. It does NOT sound normal, so I would suggest making an appointment with an Avian Vet and taking your bird in for them to look at this. It could be an infection, parasites or an injury. Whatever it is, it does not sound like normal everyday stuff.

You are fortunate to be in Northern California as there are many Avian Vets to choose from. Find one in your driving area and make an appointment to have this looked at. If bird has not been to Avian vet in over a year, it's time for a yearly checkup anyway.
